Summary:

"Are you a gifted child looking for special opportunities?" This unique ad in a newspaper was what started the grand mysterious adventure for four unique kids. All alone in the world and very gifted, these four children enter into a very dangerous secret mission. Unfortunately, a disastrous end is coming and it is up to them to end the crisis before it's too late. Can the Mysterious Benedict Society destroy the evil Mr. Curtains plans before it's too late? Join Reynie, Sticky, Kate, and Constance in an adventure of a lifetime, where danger lurks in every shadow and the fear of being discovered is overwhelming.

Welcome to the Mysterious Benedict Society.

Word of Caution: (may contain spoilers)

To some, this book can be seen as creepy and dark. A dangerous man invented a machine that is capable of inserting thoughts into minds around the world. With this machine, he hopes to take over the world. There are many scary parts so I don't recommend this to those who have sensitive minds.

Positive Notes:

This book is one of the most imaginative, suspenseful, and unique books I have ever read. It will keep you on your toes from Chapter 1. It teaches the importance of good teamwork and sticking together through difficult situations. It is a book that you should have no choice but to read.

Who:

Great for teenagers age 13 and up.

Books:

Enjoy this book and its sequels, The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey, The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoners Dilemma, The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Riddle of Ages.

Hey Kathi, thanks for your response.

When reading this book I also found the first few chapters confusing, but I found they were building up the mystery. If you keep reading the chapters will soon explain it all.

It would also be really confusing if you were reading one of the sequels. This series won’t make any sense to you if you don’t read the first one first. 🙂
